Yeah, the Makore really has that flame thing going and the sponged on paint is Ralph Lauren liberty red. I'm a little disappointed in the big expanse next to the offset tweeter but it does help with widening the image I think. I'm already thinking of a similar design that has the place next to the tweeter cut out a la those guitars that let you get closer to the frets. Whata ya call that?

you talking about a mother or pearl or abalone inlay. like the tree of life going up the fret board of a Martin guitar? I have a diamond saw and wheels you can borrow. I must have cut and inlayed a truck load of mop, coral, turq. from the indian jewelry days gone by.
ugh, its like a bad dream come back. make the spiders go away!

You got it; they're called "cut-outs"!

Nice job, btw!

Back in the dim and distant past I had a catalog that had all kinds of inlay supplies and kits that some of which did not look too hokey. Any of you woodworker types got a resource like that that you'd recommend?

Thanks,
John

Only one I know is Constantines.net. Try something called Woodweb or go to Finewoodworking.com
