I was not sure whether the Delta 12LF would go high enough to be used with the KSN 1038 tweeter using no cross over. Well I bought the parts and put them in a pair of floor monitors boxes. The sound is amazing. I like it almost better than the 2pi studio. There seems to be less of a 'shout' in the midrange. A look in the Eminence sensitivity charts gives the explanation. The Delta 12LF rolls off sooner than the Alpha 10 so it integrates with the KSN1038 much better since there is almost no overlapping of frequency response. I was afraid that there would be a hole in the response at around 4k, but there does not seem to be any. The floor monitor is only a 1 cubic foot box, so the bass suffered, but not that much. In room response starts to roll off around 70Hz. These will have excellent bass if the box is the size of the Theater 3pi or about 3 cubic feet. The KSN 1038 high end is not as good as the PSD2002 so these cannot match the Theater 3pi but for $160 a pair (not counting the wood) since I already have the boxes, the price/performance ratio is excellent.
