Wayne, this is what happened to those Studio 2 kits you sent me. The boxes came from some speakers I made for my sister 25 years ago that the drivers rotted out of. Slightly oversized for the stock 2 Pi, but modelled well and sound great. The dings and scratches were sanded and covered with 3 coats of PolyShades. I put in some .5 mh coils, but haven't listened to them without to see what the difference might be. Grilles will go on when I get around to making them. John

Till, Yeah, they're a bit ugly - er plain. (in a really nice way, Wayne) I found a source for grille cloth material - a little stretchy, acoustically near-transparent, but not cheap. It was the graduation robe I hadda buy in '95 when I finally made it through college! (high school class of '74) Made several mighty nice grille covers after washing the sprayed champagne out of it. Hope this helps. John

It's what I used for my Theater 4's. The cloth stretched over the MDF frames, stapled and glued in the rear (ow!), and has held up with no sagging or distortion of the relatively thin frame. It is not totally transparent to Hi Freqs. so for serious listening they come off. G.
