The 2 Pi are pretty small speakers. Are they meant to sit on the floor or go on stands?

They are bookshelf speakers, designed to be set at ear level with back against a wall, possibly near a corner. They work best with quarter space boundary loading, and must have at least half space, hence the requirement of back against a wall.
