I wasn't going to build anything quite yet but the call of the drivers is becoming overwhemling! So what I plan on doing is just building some test boxs till I build the art deco ones that will take all winter long, anyway, what I don't get is what box size I should be using for the 2226's. PiAlign says to use a 2.5 cu ft box amd I've seen boxes of various sizes used. If someone could enlighten me I would appreciate it.

You're right, PiAlign recommends a 2.5ft3 cabinet tuned to 38Hz.The response of cabinets between 2 and 5 cubic feet is pretty similar for this woofer, provided the system is tuned to ~40Hz.

I have 4Pi plans and have ben planning to talk to you about it cause I can't read the whole crossover schmatic drawing, it's like not all of it is there, I've been using MSWord to view it but even by moving margins around I can't get all of it, the left side is missing. Also for now I just want to build an enclosure for the 2226's and have the horn on top in it's own baffle for now till I build the Gucci Cabs for the whole deal the 22226 and the 2235 loaded subs we talked about, if I can get them that is, which is also why I'm holding off giving it a proper effort till I know for sure what drivers I end up with as for now I only have the 2226's in my possession. Anyway for now all I really need is the recommended internal volume of the main cabinet and the crossover.

The 2226 works very nicely in a cabinet with 2.5ft3 internal volume having a 3.5" x 6" x 10" long port.

Then 2.5 it is..... [message #37536 is a reply to message #37535] Sat, 27 July 2002 05:33 Go to previous messageGo to next message

The port in a Professional Series four π speaker is a straight rectangular duct that's 3.5" x 6" and 10" long.

we're on the same page as far as the port goes, I took another look at the baffle drawing and it sank in after a while. As for the XO drawing , ya jpg should work better since word doesn't seem to want to play nice, mind you either does Excel, tons of "Error generated" then total shut down.....I don't get MS, seems to have a mind of it's own sometimes!!!!!!
Thx again Wayne

I'm sending you the crossover schematic as a JPEG and the charts separately. Should be easier to open the files that way.
