I'm toying with the idea of building a set of subs to use with the professionial 4Pi's I'm building. I would like to use the JBL 2235 in 4 cubic foot cabinets. My concern is how much of a performance compromise it will be using that driver in that size of cabinet. I would appreciate input from anyone with experience with this particular driver.

PiAlign recommends 4 cubic tuned to 30Hz with a 2.25" x 4" x 3.6" long rectangular port. You can also substitute a cylindrical port, 4" diameter and 4" long with excellent results. The system -3dB point is 37Hz and -10dB at about 27Hz.

I must not be using PiAlign properly...cause it said I needed 8 cubic feet for a 2235 (which is funny cause I actually want to use 2 2235's per cabinet for a total cabinet size of 8 cubic feet hehehehehe, it should be wild!)

For the JBL 2235H - Vad=16.2, Frd=20 and Qd=4.0. So when you enter all that into PiAlign, it suggests 4.0 cubic feet tuned to 30Hz.
