Mathtime. Got me some ports for the 1 Pi:s today. Just one problem. The plans states 2,5 inch ports. Thats thats about 62-63mm:s. The only ones i could find has 65mm:s internal dimension.

Do I need to recalculate the length of the ports ?.

Can you find ports that are 60mm instead? The ports used in one π's have 2.5" (63.5mm) outside diameter. The port used has 0.060" (1.5mm) wall thickness, so inside diameter is 2.38" (60mm). So can you exchange your ports easily enough?

If not, then make it 4" (100mm) long to compensate.

Oh, so it was the external diameter...go figure =)

Iīll go for the ports i got. Thanks for the new lenght =).

Finding it kind of funny that the length increses with larger ports ( even though i knew that before ). First assumption is that it would decrease with larger ports.

Anyone that would like to ellaborate why its so ?

How about 2 Pi ports Wayne? I can't seem to find a port of the exact right dimension. It says 2" outside diameter and 1.91" internal diameter. That's 48.5mm internal and the only ports I've found that are even close to that are 50mm internal. It isn't a big difference though... exactly how long should the port be if itīs 50mm internal diameter and will it effect the performance of the speakers?

/Erik

These dimensions are common in America, used as mailer tubes. 50mm is close enough. The one's we just discussed for the one π's were off by about 3mm, which is about 1/8th inch. That's not much, really. And your proposed port is only 1.5mm different, or about 1/16th of an inch. That's quite acceptable.
