You just made it much easier for me to decide what I should build. I found a store selling the entire Alpha line in another EEC county so I can build any speaker I want from the Studio or Thermionic line for my little 14W tube amp that I plan to triode wire (power will drop to about 6W).

How big is really the step up from the 2 Pi to the Thermionic 3 Pi? And how much different is the Thermionic 3 Pi and 4 Pi?

Two π speakers are great, but they are small speakers. When you move to the three and four π's, you get a much bigger box and a compression tweeter. The speakers sound bigger too. It's all good, but if you've got the room, go with the larger speakers. If not, you'll be very satisfied with the small ones.

My room is not "that" big. It's about 3.8x5.5m and I have to put my stereo at the short wall and play down the length of the room.

I think the 2 Pi will be perfect, and there is no way I could afford any of the biggger designs, not right now. Gotta love Motorola/CTS for making these great cheap KSN-1038 tweeters :)
