Last night I replace the caps in series with the woofers of my Theater 4 Pi's with Solen 630V caps and noticed a distinct sweetening of the sound along with a bit of "veil removal". Sibilence was tamed and trumpets, sax's and female voice all improved. I loved the 45 minutes that I was able to listen before my daughter who is visiting and sleeping on the sofa bed in the room, claimed her right to go to bed and talk on the phone to her boyfriend 'til the wee small hours...
BTW, I have the stock Eminence X-over that Wayne specifies for the Theater 4's. The caps replaced were the 8uF and the 22uF. I had previously replaced the woofers' inductors with Alphacore foil inductors.
I'll post more on further listening.

You must be talking about the caps in the tweeter circuit. The capacitors in the stock crossovers are actually pretty good. Solens are fine too though. Ever tried any Auricaps, Musicaps or Audio Note capacitors?

Thanks for correcting me! Of course I meant the tweeter caps but when I'm rushing to get a post in at work when I should be actually doing work sometimes I slip up. Then again, it doesn't take me much to slip up.
And yes I have tried the Auricaps in my preamp and am impressed with them. They are replacing a pair of Hovelands in the output circuit and that is praise enough. However I am going to have to wait to buy the 22 uF and 8 uF because of cost. I think the 22's are $50 a pair.
