Hi Wayne

Just got one of these drivers in excellent condition and am planning to make a center channel out of it. Has anyone tried to use one of these as a Pi?? I spoke to JBL and the t/s is the same as a E-145-8 on the woofer and the compression driver is a 2425. So it looks like a good bet it would work out nicely. The original crossover for the drivers is in the 1k region. I have the schematic for the Urei crossover but it is very complex, and has custom inductors I would have to fab. I would rather give this a try. I did a simple 1.5K 12db buterworth with parts I had on hand and it souded OK but it needed compensation on the high end. I have the 1.6K are any of your other designs closer to 1k??

I've made crossovers at 800Hz, 1kHz, 1.2kHz and 1.6kHz. I'm currently stocking only 800Hz and 1.6kHz units, but I'd be happy to E-mail you the schematic for 1kHz and 1.2kHz versions. You might also be interested in the Spice models for these crossovers.

Got your mail Thanks!!!!! nt [message #36785 is a reply to message #36782] Wed, 05 June 2002 16:48 Go to previous message
