Well I guess they aren't exactly four pi's, but very similar crossover and enclosure.

A LOT of bracing. It took me all weekend to build this one. I'm gonna sand her down and paint it this really dark gray colour. Should look really nice. These are the ones I'm planning on selling if there's a buyer.

Adam,

Those look really well-built... good job! What's the overall box volume and tuning?

Cheers from Calgary,
Colin

P.S. - Just finished staining my Premium Stage Four Pi's. Just a couple of coats of clear varathane, some black paint on the front and back and then the components get installed. Pics coming soon!

Sorry forgot to mention those... I'm not exactly sure what the box volume is after all the bracing, but I designed it to be 5 cuft tuned to 40 Hz. it's probably slightly smaller than that.

and what amp are you using? i've found bi-amping the 4 pi's works best, solid state for the bottom & tubes for the top. bass seems to diminish when running tubes on the bottom, unless your running 300b's.

cheers,

george

George,
What kind of tube amp were you using on your 4 Pi's? With my 2A3 Paramours I have more than enough bass. Are your 4's Theater 4's?

G.

hi garland, i have premium stage 4 pi's with the kilomax woofer. it's impedance at resonance is quite high. at lima i ran them with a kr18bsi 300b tube amp and it was fine but with lesser tube amps i miss the bottom end. at home i run a mission solid state for the bottom and a pair of quad II monoblocs for the top.

cheers,

george
