Hello; I searched on "bracing" and found some great pictures of bracing that Wayne has done on the PI 4. The question is where does the 18 inches come into play as specified in the plans? It looks like two braces near the horn and two near the woofer. Plans say brace every 18 inches. How does the 18 inches relate to thermionic 3. My kit has been ordered and I am getting a jump on the cabinet making. Thanks for any ideas. Ray.
It is nearly impossible to "overbrace" [message #36620 is a reply to message #36609] Fri, 24 May 2002 15:26 Go to previous messageGo to next message

Don't skimp on the bracing. The suggestion of every 18" should be considered a minimum, or rather a maximum span of linear board that should be allowed without being braced. Cut braces to fit snugly but not so tight you need to beat them in. We want to support and preload the panels, but not to bulge them out.

Thanks Wayne; enjoy the holiday (NT) [message #36628 is a reply to message #36620] Fri, 24 May 2002 18:54 Go to previous message
