I've made a vented 5cuft enclosure for one JBL M252 for use as an electric bass cab. I've made it out of Veneered Birch 3/4, end grain is showing, I used a 5/16 round router bit on all edges Any Suggestions on finishing? (need something tough and durable but see through, the veneer is pretty nice) PS I'm not gonna do 5 coats of hand applied tung oil on this cab with 22 sqft

I cleet and nail on the inside just as he has done. On the edges, I use the birch tape, as I described previously. On the rounted edges, only thing to do is fill with a wood filler, sand smooth, and stain dark enough to blend. If tung oil is not your choice for this, the one of the Minwax finishes, which will seal and stain in just a few coats, will do well.

Well, I only made one, it is a bass cab, I had some scrap (sides, top and bottom) and I got a free sheet of Birch cause one I bought separated. I successfully glued it back together and so used part of it for a front and back. I still have ½ of a 4X8 sheet left. This veneered Birch is real pretty and quite void free too, but it's kinda a pain to work with. You have to be extra careful with the edges, and don't sand too deep. Danny Pi's cut up and waiting for a dado and some glue
