Well, started with a Honda CT90 Trail bike, dual range tranny, rode 60 miles on the highway one day at age 14 with a buddy on the back, top end 59-61 mph..........After high school had a really cool machine, a BMW /5 with a stroked VW engine dropped in it, looked factory stock. Nice alloys, Krauser bags, Corbin seat, hauled ass, lotsa torque. Then a "euro" Yamaha XV920RJ "Seca" twin, rode to Colorado. Now I putz around on a 200 cc 4 stroke Yamaha trail bike. Lotsa fun, actually. Bought the 5 year old a Honda Z50 last year. Big fun riding the trails together. Less chance of going splat. High school, dad leased Porsches, let me drive em alot. 1972 911T with Recaros, then a hot 1975 911S silver anniversary, then a 1978 Targa......... Now, get my buddy here stoked up and he'll tell you about his Supra Turbo..........do the research, they rule!!!!!!!!! MBB

They used to be called "whispering death". Plenty of straight-line speed and power (for the time), wheelie prone, terrible breaks and flexible flyer chassis rigidity made them quite a handful. It could get you into a lot of trouble that it couldn't get you our of. Some of those 2-strokes still exist. I saw an RD350 on the street yesterday. That was probably the best of the breed. Dave

Saw a Boss Hoss (350 Chev small block) - with a 509 horse nitro kit on it at Americade last year. No wheelie bar or anything. There was a Boss Hoss trike with it done on a '55 Chev theme. Robins egg blue and white. Very nice. The 750's were wild in their day at over 12 seconds. Any current 600 sports out of the show room would kick their butt. Keep the rubber side down, Grant.

Here I am trying to find a couple of stinking PNP transistors for firing those z1 coils, and I stumble across this BATTERY powered dragbike (1st one used a 77 KZ1000 frame...god bless google). 9.45 @ 152.07 in the quartermile, approx. 300 horse power www.killacycle.com well worth checking their web site. the pictures of the battery arrays are out of this world. Actually had the Kaw out on the street a bit last year. No it's not fast by today's standards. Mostly just gives terrible fuel economy, fouls plugs, and provides mosquito abatement. The throttle responds like an on/off switch, and handling leaves a lot to be desired. In the Chicago area we called them "killer kaws." The dealers groan when I try to find parts. But it is a fun bike. Steve
