I dunno, I made some 8cuft 3/4 MDF cabs in the past, nice stuff to work with, machines really sharp... bad dust, real heavy and not very pretty without veneer though.

anybody use any interesting materials for making Pi's?

I have no Idea what I want them to look like. Pretty, or rugged. arg.

You don't have to veneer... [message #35231 is a reply to message #35230] Tue, 26 February 2002 02:38 Go to previous messageGo to next message

Put on a coat of primer, and then paint them. You can be real creative then. You can completely match your decore. People will no longer say, "Those are BIG speakers." They'll ask, "Where did you get those speakers?" You'll have a nice custom look.

I used MDF for my cabinets too. I painted mine black so in low light they "disapear" and they look great. That MDF is nice but like you said the dust is a killer.
