Has anyone used plain ol' Electrolytic capacitors for the speaker xover (values 8, 10, & 22uF) ? I'm having a tough time locating audio grade caps (polypropylene) here and mail order overseas is expensive (UPS, Fedex shipping costs are more than the caps themselves). Has anyone tried using Polyester caps.

I can get much cheaper prices from this place in Vancouver back in Canada. I pass through there about 3 times a year and will pick some up next time. However, i'm wondering if I can get away with using cheap electrolytics (here in New Zealand) for the mean time. Even better, would like to hear how much improvements others have experienced using electros vs. audio grade caps (ACTUALLY swapping caps in their pi speakers).

Thanks Wayne!! Back at my old home in Canada I have 2 pairs of Klipsch Chorus which were bought when I was a kid way back in 1987/88. I've noticed that the highs and mid. freq. have really faded so will look at the xover later this year (aging electrolytics). Looking to place an order online for the remainding parts in the Theater 4 Pi. I made the mistake of ordering the PSD2002-8 "Bolt-on" and the Peavey CH-3 horn flare (which is a screw on flare). So will look to buy the Eminence H290 flare online which works out to be cheaper than buying the Peavey CH-3 horn here. By the way, what is a fair price (US$) for a pair of CH-3 flares? I'm wondering if buying the CH-3 here for future project (7 pi?).

You can also buy an adapter to bolt to the compression driver which then has a set of threads to go into a screw in horn lense. What's the mouth dimensions on the CH-3 anyway? Adam
