I have a couple of old 12 inch Pyle MH1229 speakers lying around. The specs are:
voice coil= 1.5 in
sesitivity= 97 dB
fs= 59 Hz
Vas= 3.2 cu ft
Qts= .55
power= 95 watts
frequency responce= 65-6.5 kHz

Are these speakers worth using in a full range system with a compression horn and crossover? And what type of enclosure would work best?

Naw, those are pretty crap drivers. Probably not worth the purchasing of quality compression drivers and crossover parts. The T/S specs are likely all wrong anyway.

From the specs, that speaker works best in a two to eight cubic foot box, port tuned to 40Hz. PiAlign suggests 2 cubic feet, tuned to 40Hz with a 2.2" long, 2.5" diameter port. Deepest flat response is obtained with an 8 cubic foot box, tuned to the same frequency.
