I've got the Eminence H-295's on a pair of PI-7's.

I got these from George (Replay) who originally thought they were good, moved them to another room and wasn't impressed, then I moved them to my place where they were pretty good. I added some compensation to the high frequency part of the network and think they're good now.

From this experience I would say the affect of the CD flares (like the H295's) are more dependent on the shape of the room than biradial flares. I would guess CD flares of the H-295's work better in "longer" rooms (feel free to jump in Wayne). When George thought the speakers were least impressive he was about 9' away from them. In my living room I usually sit about 20' away. (If I wanted to sit in the "sweet spot" I'd have to lie down on the pool table :-)).

I think the H-295's sound great, but I'm probably prejudiced.

Grant Marshall.
