I haven't heard anything to the contrary so I'm expecting a JBL 4648 with 2- 2226 8 ohm woofs. $221 delivered instead of $325 each plus freight. YEEEHAW!
I'm thinking corner 7's with Eminence tweeter and 3 channels of 200 watts for the old home theatre. Or maybe I keep the satellites for the fronts and build a great big center channel/subwoofer/TV stand.
I can't even figure out crossover schematics and I'm scoring drivers in the street.
Just shoot me, somebody.
are you sure you ordered a 4648? [message #34478 is a reply to message #34468] Wed, 19 December 2001 05:09 Go to previous messageGo to next message

Till,
The ones I ordered are the 4648A-8, using a pair of 16 ohm 2226J's. The 4638 enclosure has the pair of 8 ohm 2035's. Check your form confirmation to see what is on it, to be sure. Sam

one is the 4648, using a pair of 2226H (8 ohm) woofs, with a system z of 4 ohms. Another, the one on the tent sale for $220, is the 4648A-8 using a pair of 2226J (16 ohm) woofs for a system z of 8 ohms (hence the -8 at the end of the model number?). Another version has the first woofs, with a network also. It appears to me that you have a pair of 16 ohm 2226J's coming...maybe Wayne can suggest proper xover values if you need them later. Sam

Thanks for the heads up Sam [message #34489 is a reply to message #34488] Wed, 19 December 2001 17:19 Go to previous messageGo to next message

I should have seen that the 8 would be 8 ohms with the 2 drivers combined. But if I don't wind up using them in place of the Delta's I will use them together, with another PSD-2002 horn for a kick-ass center channel for my HT setup.
BTW, have you figured out how the "net weight" can be 137 lbs and the "shipping weight" is 104 lbs.? Is this a trick question?
I also wonder if the $220 covers all the truck freight from Northridge to Ohio!
Thats the empty cabinet. I did the same thing. [message #34490 is a reply to message #34489] Wed, 19 December 2001 17:56 Go to previous message
