Hi Wayne and group - right now have a long-throw (9.5mm) Eminence built 4 ohm car woof in a 12" Karlson - - almost "reaches" a CD-8 Eminence driver on 811 - running ~ textbook 1.8Khz network its lacking some midrange "life" - believe part of the problem besides limited woofer HF extention is due to baffle tilt of Karlson which may demand a driver with rising on-axis response (btw - the little Karlson woofer kicks pretty well) anyhow - have any of you run your Eminence 1" drivers in 1.2Khz xover regions and if so how were sound and dynamics? - I've tried 1.2K 3rd order hipass and it seemed relatively unstrained - didn't try it at intense levels - am tempted to run 4th order passive hi-pass. Best wishes! Freddy

Hi Wayne and group! thanks for the reply (wow - great image by Adam!!) -looked at my old graphs of the Eminence CD-8 without network on Altec horns - 811 has a LF corner just ~ 500Hz and 511 somewhat below 400Hz ~1/2 octave so these old horns should provide some decent loading. btw - a PV CH-2 looked real smooth - not sure about the compensation needed - surprisingly, it measured very extended in HF - sounded kinda laid-back - is CH-2 considered CD? Very Best! Freddy
