I've been playing around with PiAlign for a while now, and was wondering if there are some qualities or parametres that make a driver more suitable for this alignment than others. Some designs makes more sense than others.

TIA

The Pi Alignment Theory describes a method for determining motor cabinet volume and tuning for any woofer. The cabinets it suggests are very similar to Davies' 1981 implementation of Thiele/Small analysis, so this is like asking whether there are some drivers that are more suitable to Thiele/Small analysis than others. In fact, the tuning could be said to be in exact agreement because Pi alignments place it at 0.375Fts/Qts and Davies' is 0.37Fts/Qts. Not much difference. This is an example of two very different methodologies providing two very similar results and it tends to confirm both.
