Put braces every 18" of linear panel length. Use a 1x2 or similar hardwood stock and tie opposing panels together with it. The brace should be a smidge long, just enough to be a snug fit and provide some preload. Not enough to buldge the panels, just enough to load the brace and the panels. In most cases, you'll want to tie front to back and side to side, so a pair of braces should be used, shaped like a plus or a cross. This also serves as a convenient place to hang a piece of fiberglass insulation that spans the cross-section of the cabinet. Cross-section insulation attenuates midrange frequencies but bass passes right through.
