hi wayne, this is george from toronto. after many delays my cabinetmaker finally delivered my cabinets. wow are they huge, if my wife kicks me out of the house i'll just sleep in the cabinets! anyhow i have a small problem, the cut-out for the flare is larger than the eminence h290 flare. either my cabinet maker screwed up, or i have the wrong flare. rebuilding the cabinet is too much work. if in fact the cut-out was done for the jbl flare can i use it with my psd2002 driver? please help me out, i been tuneless for 3 weeks since i sold my previous speakers. thanks george.
Horn flare baffle cutouts - Different with H290, CH-3 and 2370 [message #33232 is a reply to message #33231] Sun, 22 April 2001 23:29 Go to previous messageGo to next message

Your cabinetmaker probably cut the hole for the Peavey CH-3, which is fine. If the hole is 12.5" x 4", then use a CH-3 instead of an H290. You can also use a JBL 2370 with baffle cutout of 15.875" x 5.5".

hi.

can i suggest that you take a look at the b&c me45 horn as i think it would work great in your application (the me45 + de25 combination came out on top of everything else in big horn test in german "klang & ton" magazine)

Thanks for the information. I'm interested to learn more about that horn and driver.

thanks guys, I'm going to enlarge the cut-out and use the eminence h395 horn. this will work with the existing driver and cosmetically be more appealing. i'm installing the insulation and x-over tomorrow, stay tuned for the first theatre 7 pi review. cheers, george.
