I am geting ready to start my DRD amp. If anyone is looking for a good SET amp, or a less ambitious project then what "T" is Proposing, you are welcome to come along. We will end up with something much like what Ron Welborne is offering. \
The first step will be haveing a power transformer made up. I am thinking Taps for 600 and 700vac

for a look at the citcuit look here

Oh, now that's pretty cool too. I seem to recall discussing this amp several months ago, as it was described in an article in VTV #14. Sounds like a good deal; I may join you on this one.

Not tried it in the real world, but it`s the pleasure to SPICE it and look at the clever & tricky way this amp is made. Anode current for the 300B is ~70mA, and Ia for the paralelled input tubes ~14mA. Direct coupling, bias voltage for the 300B "made" partly from Rk, partly from DC voltage drop across Rw (about 1k4) of the choke... Tricky, but simple enough!
The only concern is high B+=700V and even higher HV PT winding- 1110 Vct...
Many people already built this or similar "Monkey/DRD" amp, I found lot of info in the DIY archives... Good luck, and post about the building it, photos, etc

This looks like an interesting build. Count me in for the power transformer.
