This depends on the use. If we wanted a bleeder to insure at least critical current was drawn, we might want a differnet value than if we just wanted a resistor to bleed the PS capacitors down.

Back to the question: bleeder R. We need this R only to provide a discharge path. V-squared over R to determine power requirements. Let's say 200V. Anything over 40kOhm will need less than a watt. Two 1/2 watt 100k in parallel, is reasonable( and available from Radio Shack @ $1 for 5).

I`d use 47k/3W metal-oxide resistor (or, say 2x100k/2W in parallel). Non-flammable, with 200V it`ll dissipate P=U^2/R=0,85W. But, in extreme case - unloaded PS (5687 "dead" or removed) B+ can go up close to the theoretical 1,4142*Urms = 350V (little less, actually), and then we`ll need 3W resistor...
