Hi guy's Lets put a call our and try to get one more. Without 5 there is no discount. No discount and I would spec mine a little diffrent. But I will stick with the group if we can do it.what I was thinking is change the 5v to 6.3 Could pad it down if I realy needed 5v...John

and I certainly don't want to throw a monkey wrench into the plans Doug. But if low(est) cost is an issue perhaps you might consider a standard off the wall 120 by 240 transformer. With todays higher line voltage and especially if it's oversized a bit I'd expect around 250-260VAC out. Into a choke say ~ 230VDC and into a cap ~ 350VDC with solid state diodes. Then get the Rat Shack heater transformer. Just an idea...too bad I didn't know about this idea earlier as I suppose it's a little late for such ideas. Russ

Hey Russ, The party, as I understand it, changed its view on low cost in order to get some extended flexability. Heating a 6.3V cathode with 5V is another option available too. The triple HV windigs offer L.C voltage from ~190 to 320 with a simple full wave. Other combinations on up to 800vac into a full bridge can be used as well.Besides, any ideas are welcome, and can be applied of they will merge well with the project. regards, Douglas

doesn't sound so subversive to me. From a 'T' shirt I got at a Grateful Dead Show in Philadelphia. Presidential-style seal with a steal-your-face... I think it got sent to the rag bag in the sky after a botched oil change on my Diesel P/U. regards, Douglas
