Restoring this old AM/SW Airline and I have a question. It has an ink stamp on the chassis "25 CYCLES". ? Also there is an "X" hand written at the end of the model #. Any information helpful and appreciated, j

My first thought was the "25" indicated the 25 meter band from 11.5-12Mhz. But then I re-read and saw you wrote 25 cycles, so I don't know what that's all about. AC power is generally 50 or 60 cycles. As for identification, Airline was the label used for Montgomery Ward radios. They bought OEM chassis from RCA and others so it is generally hard to find schematics and info with the Montgomery Ward model number. You usually have to identify the original manufacturer's chassis by visual inspection, comparing the layout and tube complement.
Thanks Wayne, From the model #, it appears to have been made by Belmont Radio in or after 1939. Bougt it for the unusual circuit. Found a pretty good Rider schematic on Nostalgiaair.com., but cannot find anything relating to the '25 cycle" stamp on the chassis. I'll re-cap it and bring it up on a variac and see what happens. Thanks again.
