I built some speakers a while back, luckily the design called for the drivers to be mounted resting on the cabinet so you couldn't see the not quite perfect cutout for the driver.

My next project is an open baffle speaker, this needs a perfectly round and smooth hole with the normal rabett to let the drive unit be flush with the baffle.

I'll be using MDF, I have a router and jig saw. What's the best approach, is it likely that if I'm very slow and careful I can get a perfect hole with the jigsaw? Should a router be ok to cut the rabett on a circular hole?

I've no idea what is normal practise for doing this.

Thanks for advice.
