I've done some temporary mounts of the new Tangband W3-871s
on a small birch ply baffle.

The hardware store(s) I checke didn't seem to have any
black naoldized screws with round heads, si got some flathead
woodscrews which do not mound flush but looked to be about
the right size.

Is there someplace like McFeeley's that the right sort
of exact match screws for things like these speaks which
came with none... no docs either... can be found?

A dollar's worth of screws and $5 shipping or something.
There must be a better way/alternative.

I'll have to put the screws on some larger order and make
due for now.

However, when I was at the local hardware store (one of
'em anyway) I ran across square head screws as a astocking
item there.

There's lots of talk about these all the time including
props from one guy who has a construction piece in the
current (June/'04) _audioXpress_.

These look like they need power equipment to
be used properly.

Is anybody here using the square head screws like these
and the ones shown in McFeeleys ads in _aX_?

2. Buy any screw you want in the hardware store. After install, use a "paint pen" from a crafts-type shop (not a permanent marker) to color the heads.

Good suggestions but I giuess that I think that a non
anodized screw would just mean that a lot of assembly,
disassembly etc would wear the paint of pretty fast.

I'm surprised there hasn't been any answer on using
square head screws. :-|

I use square-drive screws sometimes, because I got them at a lumber yard going-out-of-business sale. They're fine really, just too expensive for me given that I get along just as well with phillips head. Can't beat the square drive for no-slip though.
