Wow! It sounds that you've got a cool dad. I have'nt tried setting up a clapper to the reciever eversince.

I don't think you guys are understanding the concept behind the clapper. The clapper is a way to turn off electronics and or other things like your lights with just a simple sound of a clap. I don't think that it would cause a problem with the reciever at all, it would be just like him turning it on and off.
