I often use Octava ML52 ribbon mics and have scary moments when plugging them in in case phantom power is being sent down the lead. Ocasionally I come across desks that only alow phantom switching in grops of channels so I cant specifically switch of phantom on a particular channel.
I often loan them to friends so I cant be positive people wont check phantom before pluging in.
Is there a device or way of wiring a mic lead so that it strips the phantom without affecting the signal?
Any help appreciated
Thanks
