The weirdness of this problem was the fact that I've always
considered that a speaker connection was on or not on--
not some dim place in between.

So my right side was fading and I thought I was losing my
hearing. I finally fixed the problem after the connection
(which went through a speaker a/b switch) broke and took
out a section of wire and hooked it up direct.

I can't understand how such a connection could begin to fade.

Can something go bad in a speaker a/b switch?

Not much else new.
