If someone could do a ss amp for guitar ........ that 'sings' like a Marshal or Fender .......
It would have to be used (and endorsed) by some big time player ....
......So much cheaper with 'ss' .... watts/$ (cringe(thinking@$))

I think a lot of the modeling amps are solid state with processors to make 'em sound like a variety of different classic models.

Yea.....As well as 'practice' amps, but none of these are used on stage by a big time performer (as far as I know (I think you'd see it in the advertising if they were)). What I'm saying if one could develope a ss amp that became a well known (and liked) sound on it's own rather than a cheap emulation of something else........mike

Do you think any players of consequence actually use them ? I had a Randall (for a short time) and it was terrible. This was, however, some years ago so their design may have improved ?
