Recieved the Audio Advisor flyer for this month and I see they have that unit selling for under 300$. It has a very good sounding Headphone amp integrated and the unit recieved some good reviews on some of the other audio forums.
The other thing it has that I like is a pitch control and the Cirrus Logic CS 4392 DAC chip.
Sounds like a winner.

I'm looking for a CD player, and keep dragging my feet. I really need one good one and one medium priced one, so maybe this is something to look into. Fred Thompson has made some good suggestions too. I'd like to hear his, but I really should pull the trigger before GPAF. So I may need to make a decision before the next chance I have to see and hear Fred's new digital gear.

Yeah, it's hard to know. You can't really A/B the mid-level stuff because listening in the stores is worthless. So until you buy something and live with it a while, you just don't know what you've got.
