Wayne the tube tester is a good idea and good starting place ---but I would like to have a good set of the same brand of tubes in an amp ( I have a Pilot and Knights and fishers that all use the same type of tubes) and can move them from one amp to another to hear differences in them----one test I read from some ebay aauction is to test the tubes at amp voltages as opposed to testing at 150 volts ---your thoughts Jim
