I need the help from the experts on old tube radios. I have a zenith 10s464. I am in the process of re-caping & putting new resistors in it before I tune it up. She would power up and produce the nicest sound until the main rec. caps would crap out. I am doing it old school and testing things as I replace them. My question is, while looking at everything, I noticed that on the 2nd stage I.F. moduale that things where very very, coroded. This part of the radio worked fine. The problem is that I want to "upgrade" everything to last at least another 70 years or more. There are 2 mica caps and 2 {diodes}? I think. They are like resistors but have a pointed end. I assume they are diodes. Can some one here at this site enlighten me? If need be, I can email photos of this.

Kyle
