Lucky me...I stopped at a rummage sale by my house, and they didn't
have much...the guy was trying to get rid of his old PIANO, and I
wasn't biting. He asked what I was looking for. Of course, I said "If
you had radios I'd be interested!" He said he had an old wood one in
the back of the garage...and voila...there sat a very restorable,
intact (mostly) Zenith 12S471. I personally think, to my eyes, is one
of the most beautiful Zeniths ever made. 40 bucks, and a few minutes
later, it was home in my shop. Almost complete, except for the main
tuning knob assembly by the shutter lever. (that is still there) and
the glass and center decorative tuning needle cover. I NEED these
parts, anybody know of a source for reproduction knobs? Oh yeah, one of
the tuning pushbuttons is gone, too.
