Hey guys, I just turned 16 and am getting my sister's 1984 volvo 240. Right now it has a cd player and 4 speakers... but it sucks... I think the best way to go would be to put in all new stuff. What would be the best way to go to get a full sound system and how much do I need to spend to make it decent? Thanks for the advice, Casey

The 240 doors allow for very little depth in the door speakers. There are exceptionally few choices that fit. To get a full sound, I'd be thinking about a system that can easily accommodate a sub either now or in the future so you don't have to back up and start over. I put an Alpine deck with satellite radio and an ipod input module in my 240 wagon and I find it really funny to think about the technologically advanced sound system juxtaposed with the 4 banger cast iron engine and tractor transmission. Still, it it runs well and hauls a ton of stuff.

Yep, and I still have to get my butler 275 tube car amp installed. Can't decide whether to have it drive one of the pair of speakers, or a sub in the back! I also like cameras made of metal which expose film, more often black & white! (Although I do also use a digicam and love my pinhole camera. Now THERE's several hundred years of progress on parade!)
