I'm still using my AKG K240's that I bought in the 70's. I've just been so comfortable with them that I haven't even thought about replacing them.

Does anyone else still have a pair of these?

Fifty cents?! Are you kidding? That's kind of like my dream of finding a vintage Stratocaster at a garage sale that spent the last four or five decades under somebody's bed.

Congratulations on that find!

My AKG find happened in the early 90s. If I knew then what I knew now, I'd have a remakable collection. However, as we now know, that has all changed in large part due to the internet - Ebay in particular.

There are still great deals out there, Look for auctions/estate sales in your area. Check the local paper ads. See if there are "trading magazines" in your area. Go to garage sales and ask the wife . If you see an ad for LPs, call and ask about turntables. I think you'll be surprised. Also, I guarantee there are bed-bound Strats out there......

Thanks for the suggestions. By the way, I have seen some interesting things on craigslist, too.

There may even be some audio equipment at mandy.com, although I've never went there looking for audio.
