I am looking for a Kit or plans for a high quality/low cost headphone amp. I hooked up a headphone jack to a box and plugged it into my Classe' Four preamp outputs. The power output is fine but I hear some "hash" in the high end. When I hooked it to the outputs on a Zero gain buffer preamp I have there was a lack of dynamics but no "hash". So I would like to build a preamp with some gain and high resolution. Any help would be appreciated!

Look at either bottlehead.com for their new SEX amp. I'm currently building one for dedicated can listening. Also, try headwize.com. Their project page is really nice. One project details an amp based on 6N1P tubes that runs about $150.
