Why should anybody be able to copyright a human genome? If they map it and publish it, they should be able to copyright the published work, but to actually copyright the genome itself??? It is ridiculous.

Why should anyone be able to patent an electric circuit? If I design a circuit, must I do a patent search before I use it???

IP for genes is an interesting issue. I've been watching it a little bit too. Seems like most of it has been plants so far, but the human genes can't be far off. I wonder if God will get pissed if somebody tries to patent a human.
