Going back to my childhood (OK about 19-21 or there about) and remember the Dahl's as really neat----and now there are tons of upgrades so it's like I can go vintage ELS and still IMPROVE them tooo!!! I am thinking that I would need a Hafler 220 or a B & K 140---Geltlemen, your thoughts, comments, giggles, gasps!???? (PS--these speakers made it onto the 100 best ever list !) JD

Vintage ELS? Are you thinking that the DQ-10s were electrostats? If so, you're mistaken. The DQ-10s were flat, but with standard cone drivers mounted in minimal baffles. They were considered good for their time and still have a devoted following. http://www.nbizz.com/soundsclassic/listings/527.html

The DQ 10s are not ESLs!! They are a 5 way dynamic speaker. Granted the only dynamic speaker I have ever liked but still they are dynamic drivers. Your choice of amps is criticle with these speakers because of the wide capacitance swing they exibit. With the right amps they are incredible.
