I test all of our tweeters with a MLS impulse to verify the polarity. A small "AA" or "AAA" battery can be used for woofers and mids.

I forgot to note that I would probably avoid this type of advice for ribbons like the Aurum Cantus. I don't know the nature of the pulse but that type of ribbon can be damaged with some signals.
