Since no one but only speaker manufacturers can get them for use, this whole line of discussion seems like a thinly veiled advertisement for certain posters who may also be designers of speaker lines. I don't see how this is tolerated, since its a violation of posting rules.

Grumpy, I can follow your logic but I don't think that's the case. Rick has his own forum and website if he felt compelled to "advertise" a new product/option. Also, this product seems less than stellar for most LA apps and if Rick were up to something I think he could have picked a better product to push.I only feel obligated to say something about any of this becasue there seems to be way too many pissing contests going on w/ the few audio boards I frequent and I hate to see another one invented. With that said, I don't plan on responding to anything else on this subject. Have the last word if you wish. Respectfully, Aaron D

"If it makes you feel any better I have no intention of using these in any Selah Audio speaker." You couldn't use them even if you wanted to. They'll never sell those drivers to you.

Posting rules are listed at the top of the posts. Wayne Parham will moderate and has done so at least once in the past, amazingly when someone attempted to advertise one of her new speaker systems but wouldn't tell anyone how she built it, but only how to buy it. I found this by remembering it. It might even be down the cue somewhere. Just search for Wayne, and it might be there somewhere. Grumpy's grandson

Actually, I'm not the moderator on this forum. I did talk to the moderator about this issue this weekend though. I trust his judgement on this matter. That's why he was chosen, because he knows the playing field and the regulars pretty well. He is also a very fair individual that wants the best for all the participants here. The moderator may pull down this thread, if it looks like it was too devisive. Or maybe he won't if it looks useful, I don't know. It's easy to identify a Viagra post as spam. It's also easy to identify an audio manufacturer posting a link to their own shopping cart. But there are other types of posts that regulars might notice but that casual readers wouldn't. One example is the innocent looking post asking what an item is worth, providing lots of details and contact information. Are these really questions or are they really veiled for-sale ads? Another example of something that's really hard to spot is a shill post or some other cooperative relationship. You can find them over time by seeing the patterns but its hard to know until a long time has passed. And then there are the anonymous posters that complain or praise, bashing someone or promoting something. It's obvious they have an agenda, a grievance or a champion, something. That part is easy to see. What you don't know is if the people making posts using a pseudonym are competitors or employees, or if they're legitimate third parties. Your post is like that. To be honest, we are very sensitive about these kinds of problems. We don't want to be sticks in the mud and we don't want to over moderate. But we do want to be fair, and that means if we want to keep the spam off the forum, we have to limit ALL advertisements. We don't want someone to be attacked, so sometimes we have to throw out useful posts that are mixed in with threads written as smear campaigns. We also have to watch for other sorts of problems, and to try and make this place fair and fun for everyone. We want it to be a source of information, not a boxing ring.
