he is using arrays of single wide range drivers, and he uses a bit of EQ at the frequency extremes.
His newest designs use small fiberglass cone speakers that are inherently wide range, and then he adds some EQ.

I heard Roger's full-range-driver line arrays at the 2006 RMAF, and I liked the sound I was hearing. Also, a pair of 7' 6" line arrays is a wonderful thing to behold. The shortcoming was a lack of "air" at the treble extremes. Problem is, even if I won the lottery I couldn't justify spending $19,000 for speakers with that shortcoming, when for about one third that amount or less I could have a pair of Selah Audio or AV-123 line arrays that do everything very well.

Indicative of comb filter distortion starting at 12Khz, and which cannot be "fixed" with equalization.
