Wold the drivers and crossover from Zaphs BA MTM make a good ART array?
8 mid basses series parallel, to get back to the origional impedance, keep the baffle width and driver layout the same.

any advice on a low cost array like this would be most welcome : )

Thanks
Dan

I suppose you could use the 7" aluminum cone Dayton drivers in a line array, but it wouldn't be an ART Array. In any case, the sensitivity of an array of those midwoofers would be too great for that tweeter.

Don't forget, the ART Array isn't a "great" speaker; it's a speaker that's sensitive enought to use with flea power SET amps, and it sounds good considering the $275 cost of the parts. If you're building a line array from scratch using more expensive drivers than the ones used in the ART Array, it would be better to begin by selecting drivers that will work well in a line array (woofers that don't require too much enclosure volume), that work well together (sensitivity and minimum crossover point for the tweeter), and then design an enclosure and a crossover to optimize those drivers.

Fred,
thanks for the reply. Could you point me to some more info on the ART array? I was not aware of the practical design considerations.

Thanks
Dan
