I'm hoping that in another couple weeks my Linus III arrays will be done. This is a kit from Rick and as you can see in the pics I decided to build my own cabinets in my little woodworking shop in my garage.

As a twist of my own I decided that I liked the look of a cabinet with greater depth than width so I designed my cabinets to be approximately 21" deep by 13" wide. Here are a couple of construction pics:

Another thing I'm hoping to do is put granite bases on them. I'm not sure I can get that to work because each speaker is going to weigh in at 200+lbs.

Excellent work!! I also am considering a Line Array from Rick since Jim Griffin's Linus II is no longer a viable project....the Vifa TC14WG49's drivers are no longer available. Why did you chose the Linus III over the RS8? Also, will changing the baffle width affect the performance?

I chose the Linus III kit over the the RS8 kit because at the time the Linus III kit was on sale and fit my budget.

My baffle is 1 inch narrower than the baffle in the plans that I received. Also, my baffle has radiuses on the front baffle edges where the Linus III plans I received didn't. In theory a radiused front baffle is a good thing.

Dan

P.S. Line Array Trivia - 108 pilot holes to drill for driver screws. And that's per speaker!

Driver mounting holes to drill, T-Nuts to install, screws to drive. 108 times. That's dedication! But like all things worth doing, some effort is required. I know it pays off handsomely in the end!
