Hi,

Is it a bad idea? I am thinking of using them 200 HZ up. TIA

The dipole array presents two significant problems. One is mechanical construction - making it wide enough to support the desired wavelength cutoff and stability (how to support all that weight on the front and keep the rear / sides open).

The second problem is power response and this for me is a significant issue. A typical monopole home audio line of 5-6 ft. will not maintain the nearfield effect much below 200-300hz. Adding dipole radiation reduces the low frequency power response even more. Maybe with a large amount of active equalization you can correct this? I think it's an area to be explored.
