Hi Guys,

I've got a 1999 GMC Sierra extended cab pickup truck, and various installation requirements (mainly, excessive enclosure volume) make a typical dual 10" or 12" subwoofer installation impractical.

However, one workable solution I came up with involves a line array of six 7" woofers in a sealed enclosure. The size and shape of this enclosure would allow me to easily install it behind the rear jumpseat in the back of the cab.

Has anyone tried anything like this in a car environment?
Any benefits to doing so?
Any potential pitfalls to avoid?

Let me know what you think of this idea,

Mike

You wouldn't gain most of the benefits of a line array with the cabinet so mounted. It would allow you use a bunch of smaller drivers to get the same result as one or two larger ones, provided their specs allow them to go low enough to provide the response you're looking for.
