Spend a little time with the Edge program. http://www.tolvan.com/edge/ Look at the response curve of your design and see how much eq (that is BOOST ... read, phase shifting, distortion) you need to get the lower cutoff frequency you want. Hint: Try a tapered design, wide at bottom and very narrow at top. Still has "small" look.
BTW, eq is not the answer to audio reproduction. Some cut and damn little boost should be the limit. Zene
